The demand for higher bandwidth shows no signs of slowing. In many cases, however, the access network can prove to be a bottleneck. How many Mbit/s does ADSL2+ achieve on your network? How much bandwidth does VDSL2 offer? How much is VDSL2 disrupting your ADSL2+ connections? SPOCS can answer these questions. SPOCS is a software tool that can predict the performance and impact of xDSL systems for any scenario.
|
The SPOCS software predicts the performance of xDSL systems (expressed as maximum bitrate, noise margin or reach) for the defined scenario, which comprises, among other things, the xDSL system type (ADSL, ADSL2+, SDSL, VDSL2, etc), the cable type, and the number or type of existing or supposed disturbers in the same cable. SPOCS outcomes can be used as input for a business case, to formulate a roll-out strategy, or to define spectrum access rules. You can use SPOCS to assess the impact of VDSL2 on ADSL2+ and modify VDSL2 (PSD shaping) in order to achieve the optimum commercial scenario. SPOCS provides the necessary insight into xDSL systems.
The Network Strategy Manager at a large incumbent operator had this to say about SPOCS: 'SPOCS was the missing tool that our organisation needed in order to create an optimum VDSL2 roll-out strategy'.
SPOCS enables the user to predict the performance and impact of xDSL systems in almost any desired scenario (e.g. the impact of VDSL2 on ADSL2+ including PSD shaping).
