TNO supports the pharmaceutical and biotechnological industries by offering expertise and practical innovative solutions. Our activities for clients include contract research, project support, and specialist consultancy. In addition, we develop new technologies for our own use or in cooperation with other parties. We grant licences for patents and we set up new companies to bring our innovations to market.

We conduct projects in the various phases of the drug development. They range from relatively small to long-term cooperative projects. Our main activities range from the 'drug discovery' phase to clinical phase-IIA-studies. In addition to a complete portfolio (GLP-compliant) in the areas of drug safety, bioanalysis and DMPK (kinetics and metabolism), we offer our clients unique disease models.
Broad expertise
We keep expanding our expertise by actively investing in new scientific developments. Like most of our clients we operate on an international scale and we work from offices in the Netherlands, the United States, and Japan. Research is mainly conducted in our laboratories in Leiden and Zeist (the Netherlands). We can also tap into the broad expertise present elsewhere within TNO. We cooperate with other organisations and companies on both services and knowledge development.
