There is a growing shortage of drinking water sources all over the world. This is caused in part by climate change, with rainwater getting scarcer in certain places, and in part by increasing demand for
TNO contributes to sustainable solutions for this problem through:
- the development and application of technologies to treat water
- the development and application of entirely new water systems and concepts
Three themes are central to this: water and health, water and reuse and water and energy.
TNO approaches water issues through combining membrane technology, microbiology and electro chemistry.
We work closely with universities, suppliers, equipment builders, system suppliers, and end users to implement new technology and also with the authorities to implement new process concepts. TNO Watertreatment has 10 patents.
TNO is able to partner you through research, development, testing, advice, pilots, implementation and demonstration. We are currently involved in phosphate recovery from waste water.
