Annual M2i conference and 'Meeting Materials'

Nieuwegein, the Netherlands | NBC • 12 Dec 2016 - 13 Dec 2016

What began in 1997 as an annual meeting for the Dutch materials science community, has blossomed into an invigorating event about the increasing importance of the Dutch and European Materials ecosystems.

The annual conference will take place on 12 December. This first day of the event is traditionally only accessible for M2i and its partners.

‘Meeting Materials’ will take place on 13 December and is open to everyone interested, also from outside the M2i community.

Meeting Materials is an invigorating event about the increasing importance of the Dutch and European Materials ecosystems. This year we expect over 300 participants, represented from SME’s to renowned industial manufacturing companies, and from top-researchers to professors from Dutch Technical Universities.

The program consists of an interesting mix of workshops, panel discussions, parallel sessions and key note presentations about developments in materials innovation, a lot of opportunities to expand your network and a new career orientation program for M2i’s PhD’s. The main topics are:

  • Circular economy
  • Maritime and Offshore materials
  • 3D printing
  • Smart production
  • Packaging Applications
  • Functional coatings and surfaces
  • Binding (layered) materials
  • Composites

12.00-12.30 Theme session:

Ardi Dortmans, TNO: Circular Economy: Materials meet value webs and consumer behavior.

Meeting Materials is co-supported by a.o. Brightlands Materials Center (BMC) in Geleen, an initiative by the Province of Limburg and TNO.
