Pitches, poster sessions and co-creation sessions about the latest developments concerning the electrification of the chemical industry. For companies in the chemical and energy sectors keen to use sustainable applications to accelerate their business, VoltaChem, SmartPort and Deltalinqs are holding the VoltaChem Annual Event 2017. This will take place on Thursday 9 November in Vlaardingen.
focuses on the contribution industrial electrification can make to reducing CO2 whilst also increasing the competitive capacity of business.
As well as presentations on the results of the past year, the programme will include, for example, the updated roadmap for industrial electrification. The roadmap focuses on the production of plastics, fuels and chemical fertiliser, on feasible business cases over the short and long term and on concrete project results. Take, for example, the current project concerning Power to Formic Acid, in which researchers are working on the production of formic acid as a green fuel.
Also under consideration will be the production of hydrogen using sustainable electricity for use in the refineries at Rotterdam – Power to Hydrogen. Another programme feature will be the use of sustainable energy for the more efficient production of bioplastics. Finally, there will be plenty of opportunity for those attending to interact, taking the time to identify new projects, foster cooperation and exert influence on the direction taken by the electrification programme.
