Plenty of support for innovation platform AEOLUS during NIDV symposium

27 Nov 2015

On 19 November the Ahoy in Rotterdam was the venue for the launch of AEOLUS at the TNO stand during the NIDV symposium. AEOLUS is an innovation platform of the Royal Netherlands Air Force Centre for Man and Aviation and TNO in Soesterberg. It studies how people perform in extreme conditions.

As the first signatories to  Aeolus, Karla Peijs, NIDV chair, commodore Mario Verbeek, Director of Materials Maintenance CLSK, and vice-admiral (retired) Wim Nagtegaal, COO of the TNO Executive Board, ratified the launch.

Accelerating the innovation cycle

The Royal Netherlands Air Force Centre for Man and Aviation and TNO aim to use Aeolus to accelerate the innovation cycle for human performance in extreme conditions in the aerospace field.

Since TNO and CML are looking to collaborate with other parties through Aeolus, including small start-ups, there could have been no better conceivable stage for the launch of Aeolus than the NIDV symposium.

Innovation platform

As an independent entity with two strong founding partners (Royal Netherlands Air Force and TNO), Aeolus acts as a catalyst and facilitator and bring together science, businesses and end users on the campus in Soesterberg (NL). Programs are based on scientific and applied research and we take everything a human operator needs for optimum performance in real and virtual environments as the starting point. Aeolus strives to take human factors research to the next level.
