Classification Expert (Class 4, 5 and 9) - Energetic Materials & Dangerous Goods

Wim Mak, consultant in the Energetic Material department is active in the field of Dangerous Goods and has more than three decades of experience in testing and classifying materials for all kinds of industries worldwide. These analyses play an essential role in identifying potential risk factors related to the processing, handling and storage of hazardous materials and are key to preventing industrial, logistics and warehousing incidents.

  • Testing and Classification of dangerous goods (TDG , CLP , ADR, IMDG) of:

Class 4 (flammable solids, self-reactives)

Class 5 (oxidizing agents & organic peroxides) and

Class 9 (miscellaneous dangerous goods and equivalent GHS categories)

  • Determination of phys-chem properties (cf. UN MTC, CLP, REACH) such as thermal stability, sensitivity (to spark, friction, impact) , response to heating or ignition, detonation and deflagration.
  • Organic peroxides, self-reactive substances, self-heating substances, flammable substances, ammonium nitrate based fertilizers, detergents, etc.
