The energy consumption and comfort of buildings are hot topics in the construction sector. This is the case for new buildings as well as for renovation. Materials play an important role in finding solutions to reduce the usage of energy or even the generation as well as the influence on the comfort. Light management within transparent (glass) and non-transparent building parts (façade) plays an important role. Making materials adaptive to the circumstances provides extra opportunities. These are the challenges addressed by Brightlands Materials Center in its program Opto Electronic that focuses on ‘Optical Materials for Sustainable Building Envelopes’. BMC aims to bring together a wide range of parties involved in this field and to speed up the pace of innovation by executing it jointly. We are now looking for an entrepreneurial Business Developer, to be employed by TNO, taking the lead in further expanding this innovation ecosystem.
The research laboratory facilities at the Brightlands Chemelot Campus in Geleen are strongly growing and so is the group of researchers involved.
