What will you be doing?
The researchers and business developers within our units rely on your legal knowledge and skills. You support the organisation in the drafting of highly complex and/or high-risk contracts. In addition, you act as a sounding board and advisor for the project leaders and managers of the units in question. You seek to strike a good balance between commercial opportunities and risks. You analyse the conditions for both risks and opportunities, and help to draw up contracts and proposals ensuring that they comply with the Dutch and European legislation and regulations as well as the TNO guidelines and procedures. You work on the basis of your expertise and ensure that the business representatives know where to find you and risks are properly assessed and (where necessary) mitigated.
You are a member of the Intellectual Property & Contracting department, which allows you to tap into the versatility of TNO to the full. Every project is different and therefore requires customised legal work. From intellectual property to state aid and EU subsidies, you will be active in a range of interesting legal fields. We have different teams for different business units. In the long run, his flexibility will certainly allow you to broaden your horizons. At first, you will work exclusively from home. However, as soon as it is once again permitted, you will regularly work at the locations where our research takes place: Delft, The Hague and Helmond.

You are a lawyer with a wide range of interests who enjoys complex projects and technological innovations. In this framework, you proactively involve the right people and keep a close eye on all interests, both those of your colleagues in the TNO units and the organisation as a whole. While seeking a balance between those different interests, you act in a flexible yet steadfast manner. This makes you a valued sounding board for our business.
What else are we looking for in the successful candidate for this role?
- A university-level education, with at least a Master’s degree in Dutch law.
- Experience in drafting and reviewing complex contracts, including for public-private partnerships.
- Preferably experience in intellectual property law and/or state aid and subsidy law.
- Technical affinity.

Please apply before March 14. The selection process comprises two interview rounds. The preliminary interview takes place on March 22. The second interview round has been scheduled for April 1.
