What will you be doing?
A secure cloud-based technology was built to allow flexible and scalable edge computing solutions to handle different complexity levels of the data set gathered from available IoT devices. This platform allows deploying advanced data analytic techniques for different applications including micro-grid energy management systems, building energy management systems, as well as electric vehicles fleet optimizations. One of the most important innovations in this project is to develop a digital twin interface for dedicated battery modules from TNO, taking into account the technological characteristics supported by advanced data analytics. This replica in a form of physical models will have a digital link in real-time with the in-service systems (e.g. electric vehicles) to continuously gather operational data.
Within this project, a tailoring process will be conducted by the student to customize the existing platform to be suitable for the use-case of battery monitoring, diagnosing, and prognosing status and faults of electric vehicles. The ultimate goal is to create a digital twin for battery modules to support decision-making in operating and maintaining optimally electric vehicles. Specifically, using the operational data, the supported system should be able to estimate the remaining life time of the battery using Artificial Intelligent and/or machine learning techniques.
What do we require of you?
- You have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, for example computer science, automotive engineering, systems and control, electrical engineering.
- You are coursing a master in a relevant field, for example data science, automotive engineering, systems and control, electrical engineering
- Knowledge in data mining and machine learning techniques
- Knowledge in Python and Matlab
- You enjoy developing innovative solutions to technically challenging problems and have the right mix of intellectual curiosity and pragmatism.
