What will be your role?
Are you interested in subsurface applied science and would like to contribute to the energy transition? Do you want to contribute to a sustainable, safe and cost-efficient re-use of existing geo-energy infrastructure? Then, this (graduate) internship is for you.
The internship will be part of a research project that aims to stimulate new energy system developments in the North Sea region by further developing cross-border collaboration. Multiple on-going and future projects initiated by a diverse public-private stakeholder groups are currently being planned to advance the collective knowledge for industries, governments and society. In this fast developing arena, your goal is to map the project developments and ultimately identify trends and gaps for quickly developing areas, such as future hydrogen supply chains including hydrogen production, transport, consumption and storage. As a part of the project, you will be invited to join the TNO project team in relevant meetings and discussions to obtain the broader perspective and to experience what it is like to work on applied science projects in TNO.
Your assignment will focus on:
- Update and organize an existing project database based on certain (to be identified) technical, economic and political aspects.
- Assess the projects to identify trends and opportunities.
The internship runs for at least 3 months. Longer duration is possible under consultation with potential adjustment of the internship scope.

You are familiar with hydrogen supply chains covering production, transport, storage and end use. You also have a basic understanding of the physical and chemical phenomenon relevant for various elements in hydrogen supply chains.
