What will be your role?

We are looking for an intern who investigates the mutual comparability of different Black Carbon Measurement techniques, most notably to the European Standard.
The student project focusses on proving the similarity or equivalence between candidate monitors and the European Standard. In the first phase of the project candidate methods of BC measurements are evaluated against the EC mass concentrations obtained with the European Standard. The data from various country networks, campaigns and projects is received from members of the European Standardization workgroup on EC and OC. In the second stage of the project, more in-depth research will follow to explain the failures and successes of the candidate methods. The student is invited to present his/her results to the European Standardization Commission.
