What will you be doing?
FPGAs become more and more popular in the deep learning field. Due to its ability to process data with high parallelism, implementation and execution of neural networks can be done in a very efficient way. Manufacturers like Xilinx and Intel created development platforms to make it easier to run neural networks on FPGAs. We’d like you to explore the opportunities to use an FPGA to improve (accelerate, reduce power consumption, etc.) deep learning algorithms.
TNO collaborates in a EU project with a consortium of important players in the imaging industry. You’ll be participating in this project to create an algorithm for detecting regions of interest in a medical image using deep learning.
You can start your internship at any moment from May 2019 onwards, for a period of at least 3 months.
What do we require of you?
You are in the final stage of your degree in artificial intelligence, computer science, physics, mathematics, electrical engineering or a similar degree and have some track record in the field of computer vision. You have knowledge or interest in FPGAs and experience with Deep Learning is an advantage.
