What will you be doing?
For a running project within TNO on the topic of industrial transformation we are we are seeking a talented intern to develop a dynamic material flow system for plastic and (ideally) carbon flows in The Netherlands. The project different people collaborating together and in our team we are responsible for setting-up a model for public and private stakeholders that can provide answers on different transition pathways. As carbon is the binding element behind the material-energy nexus, we want to gain more insight on how carbon flows through the Dutch economy.
To succeed in this project we ask you to have knowledge on the MFA framework, python programming skills and preferably (some) knowledge on chemical processes. The main deliverable of the project is a dynamic model that must include stock & flow modelling of plastic flow in The Netherlands for 2017. Ideally, you need to have an idea on how statistics works (sector level, product level, etc), how to interpret supply & use tables and to be organized in structuring your data points.
We will support you with initial guidance and weekly supervision but we expect you to be an autonomous researcher able to work independently.
