What will be your role?

During this internship, you will first design a suitable process for the electrocarboxylation reaction focusing on the electrochemical process as well as on the further purification and separation of the desired product.
For the electrochemical process, a new type of sacrificial anode free reaction is desired, and for that a novel elecrochemical reactor must be designed. In this internship, you will take into account all the reaction requirements and limitations, propose solutions for alternative reactors and design accordingly a suitable reactor configuration for the elctrocarboxylation reactions.

For the design of this reactor, different modelling activities will be required, as well as a study about the techno-economical feasibility of the proposed solution.
The designed reactor will be validated experimentally, although this will be out of scope for this internship.
Under guidance of TNO, you will propose solutions to optimize such processes further. Working closely with experienced process engineers and electrochemists you will contribute to the process design and optimization of electrochemical carboxylation reactions

How do you want to contribute to tomorrow's world? How big can your impact be? Come and work at TNO and envision it.
