What will you be doing?
In order to develop effective counter measures against criminality strategies a profound knowledge of the modus operandus of these organisations is required. However, these organisations are quite resilient and adapt their modus operandus in order to be detected and intercepted by the law enforcement agencies. The rate of adaptation of criminal organisations is well portrayed in the court sentence reports and therefore this project aims at identifying this evolution in the Dutch criminal setting, and at the same time developing a repository of modus operandus of different criminal organisations based on the court sentence reports, like https://uitspraken.rechtspraak.nl/inziendocument?id=ECLI:NL:RBAMS:2017:9091&showbutton=true&keyword=criminele+organisatie
The project involves developing a framework and tooling to extract the roles and activities of the different elements of a criminal organization as well as the associated spatio-temporal characteristics from text containing in open source sentencing.
