What will be your role?
As a Junior Scientist in the Structural Dynamics research group, you will work in teams on various national and international projects. Some of the projects focus on research and the development of new, innovative knowledge. You will also carry out projects in which TNO’s knowledge is directly applied in the operations of clients from industry and government. As a junior innovator Building Dynamics, you will predict and assess the dynamic behaviour and/or the failure behaviour of various structures in the construction and infrastructure domain. You will do this on the basis of calculations, experiments or a combination of the two, carried out by you and the team.
The Structural Dynamics department works on the design, analysis and testing of a wide variety of land or water-based mechanical structures, focusing on the dynamic behaviour of structures. Thanks to our well-equipped lab, practical and theoretical knowledge go hand in hand and we are in a position to solve the most complex problems.

What we expect from you
You have a university degree in civil engineering, architecture or mechanical engineering, specialising in the field of mechanics/dynamics. You have a solid theoretical foundation, but also a practical understanding of the behaviour of structures.
In addition to substantive expertise, we attach great importance to communication skills and a focus on clients and results in order to work as a team towards an end result that is useful and applicable for our clients. You also have a good command of spoken and written Dutch and English.

The selection process
You can apply till July 4. The first round of interviews is scheduled on July 14. The process comprises at least two (selection) rounds. After a positive selection, we will finish off the process by discussing terms and conditions of employment. We try to complete the interviews and assessment within 4 weeks.
