What will be your role?

As a junior scientist in the Structural Dynamics research group, you’ll predict and assess the dynamic behaviour and/or the failure behaviour of various structures as a consequence of dynamic loads. You’ll do this on the basis of calculations, experiments, or a combination of the two, carried out by you and the team.

The Structural Dynamics department focuses on the design, analysis, and testing of a wide variety of mechanical structures on land and water, with a special focus on the dynamic behaviour of constructions (often under extreme conditions).  Thanks to our well-equipped lab, practical and theoretical knowledge go hand in hand, perfectly positioning us to solve even the most complex problems. Examples of our research vary from shock-resistant ship constructions to the structural safety of offshore wind turbines. The most important application areas are defence, maritime and offshore, and buildings and infrastructure.

How do you want to contribute to tomorrow's world? How big can your impact be? Come and work at TNO and envision it.

What we expect from you

You enjoy working in a team and you’re keen to learn. Working together across disciplines excites you. But you also have no problem tackling tasks independently. Other knowledge and skills you bring to TNO

  • You have a solid theoretical foundation, have mastered numerical techniques, and also have a practical understanding of the behaviour of structures.
  • You have a good command of spoken and written Dutch and English.

What you’ll get in return

Challenging and varied work with a real impact. And plenty of opportunities as, at TNO, you are in charge of shaping your career. In addition, you will be given every opportunity to develop yourself.
