What will you be doing?
Within the department Integrated Vehicle Safety (IVS) of TNO, we work with an integral approach on topics related to Automated Driving and Cooperative Mobility. Multiple disciplines like Control System Design, World modelling, Motion planning, Functional & operational safety, Sensor Fusion, V2V & V2X Communication, Electronics, Software Engineering, Assessment, Tooling etc. work together to enhance the automated vehicle and traffic safety and mobility.
As a Project Manager you will be responsible for managing the budgets, timing and quality of the deliverables of multiple (related) applied research projects in the field of Cooperative and Automated Driving. You will, guide the project teams, defining customer contracts with budget calculations, and maintaining good customer relations with the clients during and after the projects. You guide the project leaders of work packages and are responsible for stakeholder management both internal and external TNO in the international domain. As a Project Manager you work in a team of professionals, for automotive OEMs and TIERs, service providers, research and governmental organizations all around the world. You will play a key role in strengthening and further building up our position as a unique knowledge partner for innovative safety solutions.
What do we require of you?
- Technical University (MSc), in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or comparable;
- 5 to 10 years of experience as project leader/manager in the automotive industry (R&D, technology or innovation related), preferably in the field of active and functional safety, advanced driver assistance systems, automated driving or connected / cooperative systems.
- Proven Experience or education in professional project management (i.e. IPMA);
- Strong (project/team) leader skills, able to motivate and coach team members;
- Able to write project proposals, shows empathy with the legal side of contracts;
- Well organized, able to structure projects within given constraints, result driven;
- Convincing communication skills, good understanding of customer needs;
- Fluent English by word and writing is a must. Candidates that can speak Dutch and German have an advantage;
- Can convert vision in action, taking the lead;
- Willingness to travel internationally for project meeting.
