What will be your role?
Your projects will contribute to the transition from a fossil-based to a sustainable energy system. You’ll mainly do research on the financial and economic aspects of the energy transition. With your projects, you can create insight into who should finance the energy transition, how this should be done, and what the consequences of the energy transition will be for the economy. Examples are projects within the EU’s Horizon Europe programme, other sustainability programmes funded by the European Commission or assignments that you tackle in collaboration with the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy.
You’ll work on projects in the Energy Transition unit and the Energy Transition Studies expertise group. This expertise group develops techno-economic, socio-economic and social science knowledge, methods and tools that government agencies, companies and organisations can use to innovate within the energy transition. In this group, you’ll work in different teams depending on the subject of your project. Your greatest challenges on the road to a more sustainable Netherlands and Europe? Innovative research with impact, collaboration and networking in the TNO landscape to develop, together with your team, a vision and expertise that will make a difference in the energy transition.
You’ll develop projects that have societal impact and you’ll work with TNO colleagues, external partners and relevant stakeholders to create and achieve that impact. Because impact is a prerequisite for a successful energy transition. Your credo is ‘a sustainable future is the only future’.Read more about Energy Transition Studies at TNO
