What will you be doing?
The program “Circular Packaging” is a new program line within Brightlands Materials Center, with the aim to accelerate the transition towards circular packaging by applying polymeric materials knowledge into the re-design of multi-functional and multi-material plastics packaging.
You are responsible for the short and long term strategy of this program. You initiate and coordinate the portfolio of projects and activities within the program, with the aim to come to breakthroughs in packaging and recycling technologies in which polymeric materials play a crucial role.
The Program Manager plays an active role in setting up external collaborations with leading Brand Owners, Packaging Suppliers and Converters, with universities and research institutes and with the relevant players in the recycling value chain. In the R&D eco-system of collaborative partners, you create an inspiring technological environment in which the R&D program leads to new insights and new breakthroughs in packaging technologies.
The Program Manager will take a leading role in acquisition of the major target partners in his Program. Based on industrial needs and available knowledge, you will build and execute your Program Plan. You will be responsible for the revenues and costs within your Program.
As the materials and packaging fields integrate many expertises, you will regularly be engaging with other parts of TNO and other organizations at the Brightlands Chemelot Campus. You will also be part of the Core Team of Brightlands Materials Center and of the Circular Plastics Product Market Combination cluster of the unit Circular Economy and Environment.
What do we require of you?
To be able to fulfil the above role, the Program Manager should have the following capabilities:
- A university degree preferably in Materials, Chemistry or Engineering.
- A proven track record and network in the Materials, Packaging or Recycling industry, and at least 8-10 years of experience in complex business development.
- You have strong leadership capabilities and experience in leading (multidisciplinary) teams of professionals.
- Capable to translate innovative ideas into practical research proposals, with strong experience in project and/or program management.
- You are an excellent communicator, fluent in English and preferably very good in German.
- Willingness to travel on a regular basis within Europe.
