What will you be doing?
This group actively participates in large research projects in the fields of High Tech Equipment design for Immersion Lithography, Atomic Layer Deposition, Flexible electronics and High Performance Thermal Management. These projects are funded by governmental entities or by business-like customers such as ASML, Holst Centre and SALDtech.
The projects vary from developing a new concept or technology to problem analysis of existing machines or setups. Most projects are carried out in multidisciplinary teams. These projects require a combination of analytical capacity, physical understanding, experimental skills and CFD and numerical analysis using existing packages, like Fluent, Ansys, OpenFoam and Matlab. Typical topics are micro-fluidics, two phase flow, phase transition and fluid structure interaction.
What do we require of you?
You have an academic degree, preferably physics, mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering with a specialization in flow and/or thermo dynamics. You are capable of adjusting to a new domain and work pragmatically. Analytical and experimental skills are required. Experience with packages like Fluent, Ansys and Matlab is preferable. You like working in a team and can communicate with colleagues from different fields both inside and outside TNO. You are proactive, analytical, and have a structured way of working.
What can you expect of your work situation?
You will be working in the Thermal Fluid Engineering (TFE) group, which is a young and enthusiastic group consisting of 6 persons. Their home basis is at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven. The TFE group is part of the Nano Instrumentation department that consists of 50 persons and is based in Delft. A significant part of your work can possibly by performed at the location of one of our main customers close to Eindhoven.
What can TNO offer you?
