Do you want to contribute to the Dutch high-tech ecosystem by applying state-of-the-art inference methods to tackle real life system challenges? Contribute to the world of tomorrow as a scientist at the Eindhoven-based ESI (TNO).

What will be your role?

You will have the unique opportunity to make an impact on increasingly complex cyber-physical systems (CPS) through the application of inference methods ranging from logic-based to probabilistic reasoning approaches. You successfully apply these methods to improve system’s qualities such as performance, diagnosability and more.

As a scientist operating from industry labs at high-tech giants, you bridge the gap between academia and industrial practice in applied research projects. You share insights that you gain during your research with industrial partners and science. As you often work in a small team, you have an important say in the course of the project. We look forward to you sharing your ideas.

The research projects from ESI (TNO) you can contribute to are numerous. ESI currently has projects with all majors companies in the area such as ASML, Canon and Philips.

How do you want to contribute to tomorrow's world? How big can your impact be? Come and work at TNO and envision it.

What else can you offer?
  • Master or PhD degree graduate in a topic related to inference methods, complex dynamical systems, graph theory, etc.
  • Preferably five or more years of experience in applied research.
  • Experience with graph-based approaches (e.g. state machines, Markov models, knowledge graphs, Bayesian networks, etc.).
  • Hands-on programming experience, preferably Python.
  • A system-level mindset with great attention to details.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation abilities.

What you’ll get in return
