Are you the scientist who knows everything about Risk & Reliability of the management, maintenance, replacement and renovation of structures in infrastructure, water safety and offshore? Then you're the one we're looking for!
What will you be doing?
You will work as an applied researcher in the Risk Analysis & Reliability team in the Structural Reliability department, which is part of the Construction, Infrastructure and Maritime unit. The emphasis of your work is on clarifying and quantifying risks and uncertainties. You work with leading experts on cause-and-effect scenarios, risk-driven design, management, maintenance and replacement, linking constructive knowledge to knowledge of reliability and risk analyses.Your expertise in the areas of civil engineering and risk and reliability analyses can be used directly in a variety of civil engineering domains, such as (hydraulic) engineering structures, tunnels, roads, railways, cables, pipelines and within the offshore industry, as well as in other fields. As such, you work on projects in the Construction, Infrastructure and Maritime unit and in other TNO units, as well as with a wide range of clients in the construction, infrastructure and maritime sector. The results of the research you conduct are applied directly to consultancy assignments for our clients.
What do we require of you?
We are looking for enthusiastic talent with a civil engineering, architectural, physics or similar background. You have a broad interest in innovative projects in the field of risk analysis and reliability in civil engineering. Knowledge and experience in civil engineering are a plus. Knowledge of methods and techniques for risk analysis and reliability is a must. In addition, the following applies to you:
- You have graduated from a University of Technology with good grades.
- You have taken courses in statistics and risk analysis.
- You are interested in the safety of structures.
- You have an affinity with conducting research and are always curious about technical options and solutions.
- You have good communication skills, and are very creative and solution-minded.
- You find it easy to make contact with experts inside and outside TNO and are able to work well with various disciplines.
- You have a good spoken and written command of Dutch and English.
