What will you be doing?

TNO is one of largest independent organizations in Europe in the area of new technology development and technical advisory. We employ over 3000 engineers and researchers in a wide range of economic sectors, including energy, mobility, industrial innovation, information society and defense.

For over 80 years our mission has been to work free of commercial interests to develop practical solutions based on science and research. We work closely together with major industrial parties and universities on;
• Development of innovative technologies (e.g. exploring new ideas, doing research, developing new technologies, pilot testing at industrial scale)
• Independent advisory
• Knowledge transfer programs for industry and universities worldwide.

Space plays a crucial role in the daily lives of everyone on earth. Satellites for communications, navigation and observation, but also their innovative information systems, terminals and high-tech instruments are a unique part of the infrastructure of our planet. Within our expert group, Space Systems Engineering, we develop and deliver optomechatronic instruments and systems for space, ground-based astronomy and scientific research. Generally we operate on the edge of the technical possibilities and challenge ourselves to explore beyond. The realization of such an instrument therefore demands a thorough project organization, where experts in the field of optics, mechatronics, and manufacturing must work together in a multidisciplinary setting for the desired result. To top things off, we work in close collaboration with various universities, academic institutions and a large industrial network.

You are part of a team and co-create tender proposals and new initiatives that ultimately lead to new business.

Besides a market conform salary and additional benefits, we offer you a truly unique opportunity to work on, and lead the development of, new technical solutions that are required to develop the increasingly complex demands. During your career within our prestige research and technology organization you will be able to impact both industry and the team you work with. The job is diverse, dynamic and creative - definitely not for the faint of heart given the challenges ahead. We understand life is ever changing and therefore we are flexible in our remuneration package, to make sure it supports both your professional and personal needs. Now and in the future.
