What will you be doing?
The Data Science department translates large volumes of unstructured, often dynamic data sets into actionable insights. This data often originates from internet-based platforms such as social media and discussion forums, but can also include sensor data and transaction log files. We work with our clients on finding new methods for searching, linking and detecting trends in large amounts of heterogeneous data (text, audio, video, etc.). Together with your colleagues, you will develop proof-of-concepts that use the latest data science methods. Your knowledge and experience of implementing Machine Learning will be put to use in projects for various clients in the Safety, Defence, Logistics, Industry or Health domain.
We are looking for someone who has a broad interest in Data Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. Someone who is energised by implementing proof-of-concepts techniques and converting new technologies into practical solutions that demonstrate their added value convincingly to stakeholders and clients.
What do we require of you?
- A completed university IT course, such as a Master's Degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or (statistical) Data Science.
- A number of years' work experience in a relevant position.
- Practical knowledge of Data Science and Machine Learning methods and machine learning libraries.
- Active mastery of Python (experience with Java or Scala is an advantage).
- Active knowledge of Windows and Linux systems, as well as working (developing + deploying) with servers.
- Experience with microservices-based software design such as Docker, including orchestration or the ability to master it quickly.
- Experience with Apache Spark or Hadoop and Elasticsearch databases is an advantage.
You like to work independently as well as helping out colleagues when they run into problems. You have a service-minded attitude and do not shy away from less interesting, routine work. Good communication skills are a must.
