What will you be doing?
As a Wind Energy scientist, you will work together with a team of top experts and perform applied research in projects together with industry partners, universities and other institutes. Topics can vary from wind farm optimisation to system integration, from innovative low TRL technologies to improving aerodynamic modelling.
What do we require of you?
You have a passion for wind energy, applied research and sustainability! You have well-developed communication skills and you are successful in working in teams. You are ambitious in doing research, eager to learn and interested and engaged in topics relevant to our society.
Next to that, our ideal candidate has:
- An academic degree or PhD in Electrical / Control engineering, Mechanical engineering, Physics or Sustainable energy technology - Wind.
- Experience and affinity with publishing papers in respected journals;
- Experience working in project teams;
- High quality standards;
- Strong presenting and communication skills;
- Fluent in writing and speaking English.

You will be working in the department Wind Energy. This department within the unit ECN.TNO will provide you with a group of colleagues that is living and breathing wind energy. ECN part of TNO has been performing research into wind energy for the past 40 years. It has grown into a globally recognized entity in this field. ECN Wind Energy holds a leading international position in the field of wind energy research. Our research focusses on offshore wind power plants. You will work with other top experts within and outside ECN part of TNO.
