Junior Scientist System Dynamics Work, Health & Technology
Contributing to the world of tomorrow. Envision it. Become a Junior Scientist System Dynamics at TNO in Leiden.
About this position
The expertise group WHT is committed to improve the quality of work in the Netherlands and the sustainable and healthy deployment of workers. And as a Junior Scientist System Dynamics, you will play an important role
What will be your role?
As a Junior Scientist System Dynamics, you will work within the Work Health Technology expertise group. This is a group of 47 committed consultants, scientists and project leaders. Together with them you focus on system innovations for an adaptive and inclusive labor market, a high quality of work in the Netherlands and a healthy society.
There is much collaboration with other departments and units of TNO and also with external parties. As Junior Scientist System Dynamics you work on projects in which complex political relationships may play a role, both nationally and internationally. You write project proposals, and (policy and advisory) reports and (scientific) publications in Dutch and English. You build up your own network. Together with colleagues you will acquire assignments, both from companies and from Dutch or European governments.
The projects you will work on vary from contributing to knowledge development to the valorization and transfer of knowledge and (digital) products, and organizing meetings with companies. You will also facilitate workshops, conduct literature research and conduct interviews. And you develop and implement systems thinking and scenario models in the service of improving advice.
As a Junior Scientist System Dynamics you will contribute to sustainable transitions at system level in the field of work, health and a future focused on broad social well-being.
"I am delighted that my work is contributing to the development of new technologies which can lead to further progress. It’s so exciting to be involved from the very first stage, which consists of a purely scientific idea, and to help this develop into an application that will benefit the society of tomorrow.”
What we expect from you
You have at least a completed Master's degree. The direction does not matter much, but System Dynamics has been an important part of your studies.
You have knowledge of and preferably experience in the field of system solutions/system dynamics (data analysis, modeling and simulation). This experience can be gained in your work, but also during relevant study or internship projects
You preferably have experience with system dynamics software (VENSIM or Stella Architect), Agent Based Modeling and web application development. This experience can also have been gained in your work, as well as during relevant study or internship projects. If you do not have this experience, you must be able to quickly master it.
You have demonstrable affinity with the health domain and socio-economic (labor market) issues. This is the domain in which you work. This is what you do it for.
What you'll get in return
Challenging and varied work. And plenty of opportunities, because at TNO you are largely in charge of your own career. Besides a gross monthly salary between € 3,000 and 3,500 (depending on your knowledge and experience), you get a 13th month (8.33%), a flex budget (5.58%) and vacation pay (8%).
