HR Data Specialist | The Hague

Contributing to the world of tomorrow. Envision it. Become a Data specialist at TNO in The Hague.

About this position

You are a data aficionado who wants to innovate HR. You do this by performing solid analysis of the impact of HR policies on employee well-being. You give managers insights about their teams using HR data. You will also conduct research on HR topics with relevance across TNO and report the results to the HR Management Team. Through your enthusiasm, you show colleagues how they can make more informed decisions by using data.

What will be your role?

In this role, you will be handling HR data from A to Z. You will deal with all aspects of the 'data analytics value chain': from data collection, cleansing, structuring, analysing, to visualising data and providing advice. Before starting a comprehensive analysis, you talk to the internal customer and ask in-depth questions to find out their need. You then get back to the actual job and analyse the available data, either together with the HR Data Scientist or by yourself. For example, you use SQL to retrieve, cleanse and structure the data, build dashboards in Power BI, and use Python to create predictive models and perform solid statistical analysis. You are capable of clearly explaining the results of your research to the internal customer and of making substantiated recommendations based on the HR data.

As an HR Data Specialist, you will be a member of the HR Innovation & People Analytics team and report to its manager. You will also work with and be coached by the HR Data Scientist. You will work with various colleagues within TNO dealing with HR, Data, Dashboarding and management information, in the contexts of both HR and the business.

What we expect from you

You ask questions, and only stop asking questions when you are clear. You think in a structured way and you are precise. Besides being analytical, you are also pragmatic. You are capable of communicating transparently and explaining complex issues in a clear way. In addition, you are always curious and love juggling with data. You are enterprising and like finding out things by yourself sometimes. You have an affinity for HR, but also want to develop a broader vision that goes beyond the HR domain.

  • A university/master's degree in Data Science, Econometrics, Mathematics or other relevant technical study.
  • Experience with programming (e.g. Python, R or Java), data visualisation (e.g. Power Bi or Tableau) and data extraction (e.g. SQL).
  • Solid knowledge of statistics.

What you'll get in return

Challenging and varied work with a real impact. And plenty of opportunities as, at TNO, you are in charge of shaping your career. We offer a gross monthly salary between € 3.340,- and € 4.000,- (based on your knowledge and experience), 8% holiday pay, a 13th month bonus of 8.33% and a flex budget (5.58% + € 180). In addition, you will be given every opportunity to develop yourself.

TNO offers optional employee benefits, enabling you to tailor your benefits package to match your personal situation. You may also expect:
