IT Consultant - The Hague

This is your time to contribute to tomorrow's IT solutions. Want to make your mark on our time? Become an IT consultant at TNO in The Hague.

What will be your role?

As an IT consultant, you will look at the obstacles that hinder digitalization through the eyes of the customer. You will be talking to unique companies, ranging from a can recycling process for reuse to a ready-to-go house factory where fully constructed houses roll off the assembly line. You orchestrate collaboration within the manufacturing company. You focus on the quality of the production flow or making the operation tangible and traceable. You also tackle the question of how to skip the prototype in the design phase. You are not involved in technology push or sales conversations. No, your role is to understand the problem and facilitate collaboration.

The Advanced Computing Engineering (ACE) expertise group is your home base. With over forty scientists, researchers, and consultants based in Groningen and The Hague, we demonstrate the added value of digital applications every day. You will also work closely with colleagues from other departments and units. ACE is a diverse mix of highly educated professionals with different genders, levels of experience, and nationalities. We all share a passion for applied research and enjoy discussing it in an open and informal atmosphere. Moreover, at TNO, you are not alone: we are there for each other, support one another, and welcome your ideas!

What we expect from you

You are excited about working on innovative solutions from a technological perspective in an independent manner. When engaging with stakeholders, you quickly grasp the essence of a story or development. You can see the bigger picture beyond the technology and discern the main aspects of the problem. With your curious and investigative mindset, you excel as a networker, connecting parties and involving them in various projects. You handle the freedom to organize your days and shape your role with ease. Your proactive attitude comes in handy. In addition to being self-reliant, you are also a team player. Here's what else we require:

  • Academic level, preferably with a technological background such as computer science, technical physics, IT, or complex distributed systems.
  • Business background, for example, at an IT consultancy firm.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience.
  • Good writing and speaking skills in Dutch and English, as Dutch is the language of many of your clients.

What you'll get in return

Challenging and varied work with a real impact. And plenty of opportunities as, at TNO, you are in charge of shaping your career. We offer a gross monthly salary between € 4.156,- and € 6.405,- (based on your knowledge and experience), 8% holiday pay, a 13th month bonus of 8.33% and a flex budget (5.58% + € 180). In addition, you will be given every opportunity to develop yourself.
