Internship | Modelling a robot stacker using Eclipse LSAT

About this position

Logistic facilities, like distribution centers, are becoming more and more automated. As the performance of such facilities is critical, it is essential to predict and optimize the performance of its robotic components. This assignment involves the prediction of the performance of a robotic pallet stacker, which moves layers of cartons from one pallet to another, and its surrounding systems

What will be your role?

In this assignment, we want to evaluate Eclipse LSAT as a modelling tool for these kinds of systems. The following questions are to be answered:

  • Which system components can and cannot easily be described?
  • Which planning strategies can and cannot easily be described?
  • How quickly can one configuration be analyzed?
  • Is Eclipse LSAT an appropriate tool to optimize the allocation of work to the system?

In these questions, an existing C++ simulation created by CQM is to be used as a reference.

The assignment will be hosted by TNO-ESI in cooperation with CQM.
