Internship | Synthetic Text generation with Large Language Models

About this position

Data is of ever increasing importance in our lives. From data we gain knowledge, determine policies and create societal value. Using unstructured text data has taken a flight over the recent years as well due to the development of Large Language Models. Sometimes it is necessary to gain knowledge from or share text documents that are sensitive and/or contain private information. Of course, sensitive documents should be handled with care and within legal boundaries. We aim to generate synthetic text data to enhance the security of text documents whilst still begin able to learn from this data. Synthetic text data can be used for research, educational purposes and model development.

What will be your role?

The research topics will be:

  • Which LLM’s can be used locally to generate synthetic text documents?
  • How can we best preserve the privacy of the original documents?
  • How can we evaluate the quality of synthetic text documents compared to their originals?
