Consultant Bridging Industrial Digitalization and Policy Making | The Hague

About this position

At TNO Vector, the center for societal innovation and strategy we are looking for an experienced Consultant to join our Strategy and Policy Research Group. You’ll be working on a variety of projects, all related to further digitalization of Dutch and European industries. One of your key responsibilities will be working together with local, regional, national and European governmental bodies and other public and private partners to ensure smooth (digital) transitions. TNO Vector combines knowledge and skills to solve structural problems in the Netherlands and Europe. We do this by integrating the expertise available within TNO in the fields of technology, innovation, and policy. We examine problems from different perspectives and apply solutions in practice.

What will be your role?

As an experienced Consultant within our Strategy and Policy Research Group you’ll be working alongside our Principal Consultant on complex projects, ranging from topics such as digitalization of the manufacturing industry, digital sovereignty to data spaces, among others. 

Furthermore, you will:

  • Be regarded as an expert within TNO and by her customers; strengthen TNO Vector’s consultancy and knowledge position in aforementioned areas;
  • Work with our interdisciplinary team on acquisition, content and delivery of strategically important projects and provision of high quality deliverables including but not limited to reports, PowerPoints and workshops;
  • Take the lead in specific proposals or projects besides client engagement, including setting up and managing complex consortia where market and governmental bodies are involved as well;
  • Support the development of our young processionals (consultants and researchers alike), being a role model in terms of content, consultancy skills and customer perspective.

What we expect from you

We are looking for someone with outstanding stakeholder management skills and experience in building relationships with customers: private and governmental sector alike. You thrive in a multi-stakeholder environment, get energy from daily contact with various project members and in general, interaction with people. You are a trusted advisor, capable of setting agendas and direction, and supporting decision making. You work happily both in teams and also on an individual basis. Furthermore:

  • You have an outstanding track record of being a key player in complex/large scale projects, with the involvement of public-private partnerships, including national and European partners;
  • Have a wide network nationally and internationally, both within and beyond your own area of expertise;
  • Possess demonstrable knowledge and expertise in questions relating to the impact of digitalization and other innovations on industry and the wider digital economy;
  • Have a deep understanding of how policy and strategic decision making can be supported, and applied in the context of industry;
  • You thrive on structure and transparency, but can cope with unexpected situations;
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills in both Dutch and English, including writing comprehensive proposals and project documentation in both languages.

We offer a gross monthly salary with a maximum of € 6.500,- gross a month (based on your knowledge and experience), 8% holiday pay, a 13th month bonus of 8.33% and a flex budget (5.58% + € 180). The selection process

Please apply before 5th of October, 2024. The selection process comprises two interview rounds. In a final meeting we will discuss the terms of employment and your tailored benefits package. We aim to finalize the entire process within four weeks.
