9th Biorizon Annual Event on Bio-Aromatics - Webinar
Are you active in the bio-aromatics value chain and curious about the latest developments? On 1 December 2022, Biorizon co-initiators TNO & VITO will organise their 9th Biorizon Bio-Aromates Event online. Discover the latest developments in the field of biobased aromatics, and join the pre-arranged, bilateral matchmaking sessions.

Programme online event
1. Interactive presentation Biorizon, TNO and Decathlon
Short, interactive plenary presentations that feature the progress that Biorizon has made in the scaling up of the production of bio-aromatics with premium properties. Including a presentation by Decathlon, the world's largest sports goods retailer.
From 15 to 16 hours, our experts Jaap Kiel and Paul Könst will give an update on the scaling up of technological development of bio-aromatics:
- 15:00 - 15:30 Thermochemical bio-aromatic applications - Jaap Kiel
TNO is piloting a new technology; thermochemical depolymerization of lignin and lignin-rich biomass. Recently, TNO has stepped up the application development, in close cooperation with a range of industry partners. Representative 1-10 kg-scale samples are being provided for screening tests. For BTX, we target bulk applications like plastics and coatings, but also niche applications like fragrances. For bio-aromatic rich oil fractions, we target bitumen, resins, coatings and fuel additives.
- 15:30 - 16:00 Sugar based bio-aromatic applications - Paul Könst
Biorizon co-initiator TNO has established platform technologies for the selective production of furanic and bio-aromatic building blocks. TNO unlocks the potential of its platform technologies by producing furanic building blocks for applications such as detergents and resins. And, by producing the next generation of bio-aromatics, such as bio-phenol and bio-aniline, for applications such as polycarbonates and insulation foams.
2. Virtual matchmaking session
Take part in the virtual matchmaking sessions that can be scheduled as from now and meet representatives of the entire bio-aromatic value chain from all over the world!
We welcome all companies representing the bio-aromatics value chain (agro/feedstock, producer, consumer, brand owner). Large, small and medium-sized enterprises as well as research and technology organisations from all over the world can participate in this event.
Join the live event
This programme is part of two events: this substantive webinar with 1:1 virtual matchmaking sessions on 1 December and Biorizon's live networking event with a visit to the LignoValue Pilot Plant on 6 October.
