We develop and scale sustainable materials, based on our unique expertise in material properties, combined with our laboratory expertise and modelling capabilities. This is crucial to meet the European policy targets of 50% circularity and 55% CO2 reduction in 2030, and full circularity and climate neutrality in 2050.
Producing with sustainable materials
TNO combines impact assessments, expertise in chemical safety and in-depth materials knowledge. In this way, we work with manufacturers to develop materials that are safe, sustainable and circular from the drawing board onwards.
TNO offers a unique knowledge position, an independent perspective and a network to bring stakeholders together and guide them through the transition. We focus on developing new sustainable materials that are easy to recycle, have smart functionalities, save energy, have a low environmental impact and contain significantly less critical or toxic substances.
