Groundwater stewardship
Groundwater stewardship in the Netherlands is vital due to its importance for nature, agriculture, buildings and infrastructure. We aim to develop methods and information products to predict impacts on and risks to groundwater from climate change, agricultural developments, urbanization and sustainable energy supply.
In our groundwater projects, we see the interaction between human activity and natural processes. With our data, mapping and knowledge, we visualise groundwater, its quality, different functions and risks. This is how we contribute to sustainable groundwater management and deployment of renewable energy and other applications.

Why groundwater needs stewardship
TNO Geological Survey of the Netherlands works at making groundwater systems visible, connecting stakeholders, and enabling the collective stewardship of a resource we all depend on.
