Jelle de Jong

My research focuses on skeletal muscle function and physiology during ageing and frailty, with specific interest in sex differences. I integrate human cohorts, intervention studies, and cell and animal models in a translational approach to uncover mechanisms, develop digital and wet biomarkers, and advance personalized interventions that improve muscle health across the lifespan.
