Consultant Knowledge and Datadriven AI
This is our time to use AI for real change. Do you want to help create solutions that truly matter — in industry and for society? Join TNO as a Consultant Data & AI in Soesterberg.
About this position
In a world full of AI hype, we are looking for something different: applications that work, that are reliable, and that make a real impact. No abstract promises, but concrete solutions for real-world challenges in industry. As a consultant at TNO, that’s exactly what you will contribute to. This is our time. Your impact starts here.
What will be your role?
As a Consultant Data & AI, you will work at the intersection of technology, practical application, and societal impact. You will help companies and organizations develop valuable and responsible applications of AI and data. In addition to working on challenging projects in the (high-tech) industry, you will also contribute your skills to broader societal questions — from smarter production processes to solutions addressing labor market shortages.
You will engage with clients to clearly understand their challenges and needs. Based on these insights, you will connect the right colleagues, technologies, and opportunities, working towards solutions that are both practical and impactful. You always keep the broader context and the client's objectives in mind.
You will work on a wide range of challenges, such as:
• Analyzing the added value of AI for improving production processes;
• Supporting the work of professionals through AI;
• Applying AI for decision support in production environments, public safety, or the social domain.
Your work will combine client interaction with hands-on content: gathering requirements, designing solution directions, and developing proof-of-concepts together with technical experts. Besides contributing to ongoing projects, you will also play a role in initiating new initiatives.
What we expect from you
You have experience in consultancy work and a strong interest in data and AI. You easily switch between client needs, domain expertise, and technological possibilities, and you know how to translate customer challenges into concrete solutions. You are independent, proactive, and you actively seek collaboration.
Knowledge-driven and data-driven AI are at the core of our work. It would be a plus if you already have some familiarity with concepts like language models or ontologies, but it is not a requirement. Your curiosity and ability to quickly grasp new content are more important than deep technical expertise.
We are looking for someone who recognizes themselves in the following profile:
- A university degree (WO) in a relevant field, such as data science, AI, industrial engineering, or mathematics.
- At least 4 years of work experience, preferably in a consultancy or advisory role.
- Affinity with the industrial domain and/or experience with industrial clients.
- Affinity with project-based work or project management.
- Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
What you'll get in return
Challenging and varied work with a real impact. And plenty of opportunities as, at TNO, you are in charge of shaping your career. We offer a gross monthly salary between € 4.500,- and € 6.000,- (based on your knowledge and experience), 8% holiday pay, a 13th month bonus of 8.33% and a flex budget (5.58% + € 180). In addition, you will be given every opportunity to develop yourself.
TNO offers optional employee benefits, enabling you to tailor your benefits package to match your personal situation. You may also expect:
- An extremely professional, innovative working environment where colleagues are leading experts in their field.
- The opportunity to attend courses, workshops and conferences, and to receive training and coaching based on your needs.
- 33 days annual leave on a full-time basis.
- An employer that values and encourages diverse talent, with initiatives like the Female Leadership Program, our Rainbow Community and round tables on inclusion topics.
- We offer a comprehensive and flexible mobility plan that also includes full compensation for public transportation for commuting and business travel.
- Great social events with your team and other TNO colleagues. That’s how you will get to know a lot of people really quickly.
- Flexible working hours, the possibility to work parttime (32 of 36 hours) and the possibility of working from home.
- Extensive relocation package for international candidates.
- A good pension scheme.
