About this position
The complex microbial ecosystem of our microbiome plays a crucial role in our health. Although metagenome sequencing has provided detailed information about the composition of the microbiome, fundamental questions remain about the interactions between these microorganisms and our immune system, metabolism, and disease processes. These fascinating research areas offer innovation opportunities for the development of new therapeutic approaches, including pre- and probiotics and personalised treatment methods, which can have a positive impact on human health.
What will be your role?
As a Scientist Bioinformatics, you will work within the Health & Work unit, in the Microbiology & Systems Biology (MSB) Research Group. With your expertise in bioinformatics and a passion for microbiology, you will contribute to analyses and the role of the microbiome in disease and health.
You will work together with colleagues and external partners outside TNO in project teams on various research questions. In addition to conducting analyses, you will contribute to project proposals, quotations, and reports. In this way, you contribute to the visibility of our research and the success of innovation and collaboration projects for clients and partners.
