Project manager ICT | Groningen
This is your chance to contribute to tomorrow's IT solutions and make your mark on our time. Want to be an ICT Project Manager at TNO in Groningen!
What will be your role?
You will manage various research projects simultaneously, ranging in scope from B2B consultancy to multi-year, subsidized TKI projects (Top Consortia for Knowledge and Innovation). Particularly in projects with consortia, stakeholder management is an important task due to the various and sometimes conflicting interests. You will monitor the project's shared goal and progress. With your often multidisciplinary teams, you will develop innovative proofs-of-concept and demonstrators. Your teams will work on topics like cloud federation, digital twinning, complex model chains across multiple organizations. Your initial focus will be on Dutch projects, but depending on your interests, you can grow into European projects.
The Advanced Computing Engineering (ACE) expertise group is your home base. From Groningen and The Hague, more than forty scientists, researchers, and consultants prove the added value of digital applications every day. You will also work closely with colleagues from other departments and units. ACE has a nice mix of highly educated professionals with different genders, levels of experience and from diverse nationalities. We cooperate with government bodies, enterprises, service providers and non-governmental organisations. We all have a passion for applied research and we like to talk about it in an open and informal atmosphere. Moreover, at TNO, you are not alone: we are here for each other, support each other, and are open to your ideas!
What we expect from you
You are energized by managing multidisciplinary research projects. The intrinsic uncertainties of innovative projects whose outcome is not predetermined do not faze you. Inspiring people and structuring the creativity of researchers to achieve a feasible result together is in your blood. With your communication skills, you convince your teams, customers, partners, and other stakeholders. You also know how to deal with sensitivities and the interests at play. And if you ever get stuck, you know to ask for help in time!
What else do you bring:
- A master's or PhD degree in computer science or equivalent.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in leading project teams and projects with diverse external stakeholders
- Experience with IPMA or other project management methods.
- Excellent command of Dutch and English is preferred.
What you'll get in return
Challenging and varied work with a real impact. And plenty of opportunities as, at TNO, you are in charge of shaping your career. We offer a gross monthly salary between € 4,500 and € 6,600 (based on your knowledge and experience), 8% holiday pay, a 13th month bonus of 8.33% and a flex budget (5.58% + € 180). In addition, you will be given every opportunity to develop yourself.
