About this position
The Metabolic Health Research (MHR) department supports efficient development of drugs and health interventions by creating tools, technology, and models that facilitate research at every stage of the development pipeline. From target discovery to preclinical efficacy analysis, advanced analytics and pharmacokinetics, we collaborate with pharmaceutical and nutritional industries and numerous academic partners to drive innovation. Current position for an in-vitro scientist is a unique opportunity to work with advanced cell and tissue based models in applied pre-clinical research, together with various industrial and academic partners. What will be your role?
As an in-vitro scientist, you will participate in diverse projects focusing on the pharmaceutical application of a variety of cell based preclinical models. The metabolic health in-vitro models are currently focused on fibrosis, MASH, lipid metabolism and muscle health. You will work together with other scientists, technicians and project leaders on applied research projects.
Together with a team of professionals, consisting of scientists, project managers and technicians, you will play an important role in translating the (unmet) research needs from industry to experimental designs by making use preclinical models developed within TNO. Besides working with and for companies in short-term business-to-business projects, you will also be involved in innovative longer-term projects where you can make an important contribution to developing new knowledge and technology and thus strengthening the knowledge position of the team. We expect you to contribute to writing research proposals and grants. Depending on the projects and your involvement, you will lead or contribute to publishing of our research findings.

- You have a PhD in cell biology, focusing on in-vitro techniques.
- 1-3 years of relevant working experience is a pre.
- You can make connections with experts in other fields and you quickly master new knowledge.
- You are a pro-active candidate, highly motivated, keeping up with the developments in the field, eager to explore new ideas.
- You are able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Your ambition is to scientifically lead research projects, but above all you find it important to help our customers with customized solutions.
- You are enterprising, creative, flexible and you have good communicating skills in English, written and spoken
