Sebo Hofkamp Appointed Member of the Executive Board and Chief Operating Officer of TNO

Commodore Sebo Hofkamp has been nominated by the Minister of Defence for appointment by Royal Decree as Chief Operating Officer and member of the Executive Board of TNO. He will also become Chair of the Council for Defence Research (RDO). He will begin his new roles on 1 December 2025, and will be promoted to Rear Admiral as a result. Sebo Hofkamp succeeds Maarten Tossings, who is retiring due to reaching the functional retirement age.

Sebo Hofkamp has had a forty-year career with the Royal Netherlands Navy. After joining in 1984, he rose through the ranks to become one of the highest-ranking naval officers in the Netherlands. He commanded various ships, from minehunters to large frigates, and participated in multiple UN and NATO missions. He also held several positions at the Ministry of Defence.

Since 2021, he has served as the Dutch Defence Attaché in Washington. In addition, he held the position of Dean of the Corps of Attachés in Washington, leading all international defence representatives. He was also Chair of the Defense Attachés Association.
