Compute technologies have been the engine of societal change for decades. AI turns this change in a revolution. AI is maneuvering the social fabric, industrial production, sovereignty, defence and not the least, applied R&D to a crossroad. AI accelerates other disruptive fields like autonomous industrial production, quantum, photonics, and neuromorphic computing to become the drivers of global growth and the enablers of a more resilient world.
For the Netherlands to maintain its competitive edge, building a sovereign position within emerging value chains is essential. With a thriving ecosystem of start-ups, scale-ups, and academic excellence, we have the foundation.
Now, it is time to define the strategy. We just have to chose the right turn on the crossroad. Now, it is our time. Attend the Future 2026 to hear and discuss how.
This symposium also marks a significant milestone: the retirement of Dr. Lydia Meijer. We celebrate her career by looking forward to the "next leap" in computing.
