What will be your role?

  • You are deeply passionate about leveraging AI (Large Language Models) to revolutionize system engineering and software development.
  • You can conduct assessments of current engineering processes and identify opportunities for AI integration.
  • You can develop and present strategic recommendations for AI solutions that enhance system and software design, development, and operational efficiency.
  • You collaborate with different teams to implement AI technologies, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
  • You provide expert guidance on AI best practices, tools, and methodologies to engineering teams.
  • You monitor and evaluate the performance of AI implementations, offering insights for continuous improvement.
  • You stay abreast of emerging AI trends and technologies, assessing their potential impact on future projects.

What we expect from you

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and implementing RAG infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of system engineering principles and software development life cycles.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing end-to-end AI applications, including infrastructure setup using Docker and cloud platforms (Databricks and Azure experience preferred).
  • Experience in developing and maintaining python-based code architectures while adhering to best practices.
  • Experience in designing and implementing evaluation frameworks for AI systems.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities, with demonstrated experience working in multidisciplinary teams and explaining complex AI concepts to various stakeholders.

We offer a gross monthly salary between € 4,473 and € 6,888 (based on your knowledge and experience), 8% holiday pay, a 13th month bonus of 8.33% and a flex budget (5.58% + € 180). ESI is an open and diverse innovation research centre hosted by TNO with strong partnerships with industry-leading high-tech companies. The selection process

Please apply before the 29th of June, 2025. The selection process comprises two interview rounds. In a final meeting we will discuss the terms of employment and your tailored benefits package. We aim to finalize the entire process within four weeks.

The selection process may include an online assessment and a reference check.
