Technical Consultant Data Interoperability
Would you like to be part of a team that is globally leading in making the latest innovations in data sharing within open ecosystems practically applicable? Become a Technical Consultant at TNO.
About this position
We work in sectors such as logistics, (smart) industry, defence & security, health, and energy. Our vision is to innovate in and with these sectors to create future-proof solutions that enable trusted data sharing. TNO is a key contributor to the European data strategy open ecosystems for data sharing. The Data Ecosystems (DE) department brings together top experts and international thought leaders in areas such as data sovereignty and interoperability.
What will be your role?
As a technical consultant, you are the bridge between knowledge and the market. You serve as a point of contact for large international organisations, SMEs, and industry associations. You translate state-of-the-art knowledge and technologies into concrete solutions.
TNO is at the forefront of developing guidelines and platforms for data sharing. Think of topics such as semantics, data sovereignty, secure data sharing, and federated systems. This makes us a valuable guide for organisations facing complex data challenges. Your role is to bring together diverse areas of expertise and developments to craft solutions for the real-world needs of our clients.
The guiding principles of our department: Collaboration and Connection.
What we expect from you
You are a true connector—between departments, between technology and the market, and between people. You have strong knowledge of IT technologies such as the Dataspace Protocol, Eclipse Dataspace Components, decentralised data-sharing infrastructures, or semantic technologies.
You also have hands-on experience with various aspects of data sharing and the complexities that come with it. You know how to design a dataspace architecture and integrate different data systems and sources using the Dataspace Protocol. You're familiar with relevant European regulations like the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
You can translate customer needs into clear specifications for your TNO colleagues and effectively present our innovative solutions to (potential) clients in a clear, creative, and enthusiastic way.
At TNO, you’ll have plenty of freedom to organise your work in a way that suits you. This also comes with responsibility: you’re someone who gets started independently and seeks out information when needed. At the same time, you stay connected with your colleagues, even when working remotely.
What you bring:
- A Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Business Informatics, Industrial Engineering, or Operational Research
- A strong interest in the technical side of IT, especially in system integration, software development, semantic technologies, and decentralised data-sharing technologies
- Experience with dataspace architecture and integration
- The drive and potential to continue developing yourself
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch and English
What you'll get in return
Challenging and varied work with a real impact. And plenty of opportunities as, at TNO, you are in charge of shaping your career. We offer a gross monthly salary between € 3.400,- and € 5.900,- (based on your knowledge and experience), 8% holiday pay, a 13th month bonus of 8.33% and a flex budget (5.58% + € 180). In addition, you will be given every opportunity to develop yourself.
