I am passionate about improving the quality of life for children -wherever they live. Connect with me if you are looking for expertise on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) such as child abuse and neglect; family resilience, or mental health in children and youth at risk.
As a sociologist, at TNO since 2006, I work contextually and multidisciplinary across domains. Society has become increasingly complex, and only by embracing this complexity can we find solutions to societal problems.
Within the programmes ‘Resilient Youth’ and ‘First 1000 days’ at our Youth department I conduct both quantitative and qualitative research and design innovations through participatory action research. My work is always in collaboration with others: NGO’s, professionals, policymakers, experts, and people with lived experience.
Recent and running projects include:
- Development and evaluation of Nour’s World and Build your Own Buddy
- Resilience in families with multiple and complex problems
- Prevention of juvenile delinquency
- Professionals with lived experience (pdf) of family violence
- Development and validation of the GIZ-Kraamzorg (pdf) and ALPHA-NL
