At TNO Buildings, Infrastructure & Maritime (BI&M), we work on tangible solutions to major social issues for a safe and sustainable built environment. This is no mean feat, considering the increasing burden on the road and waterway network, the enormous housing challenge, and emission issues during a time of major energy and climate transitions. Digitalisation is making an increasingly important contribution to solving these issues in the Building and Infrastructure sector. To realise our ambitions in this area, we are looking for several colleagues with different fields of expertise and roles to strengthen the current Digitalisation team.
What will be your role?
Projects are successfully delivered under your management. You ensure that we adhere to contract agreements and budgets, and that clients are satisfied. Even if the outcome is not the initially envisioned solution. In addition, you focus on good publicity and encourage a maximum learning effect among project staff. How you approach all this is up to you. You’ll have a lot of freedom to work in the way that suits you. There are also opportunities to spar and exchange experiences with other project managers.
On average, project managers at Structural Reliability run about four to eight projects or programmes at a time. This entails a great deal of variety! As an experienced project leader, you will be dealing with the larger and more complex projects. For example, you’ll work on multidisciplinary projects that transcend your team, department, or even unit. Or prestigious projects in which we collaborate with other research institutions in a European consortium. In short, plenty of room for you to grow as a project manager.
How do you want to contribute to tomorrow's world? How big can your impact be? Come and work at TNO and envision it.
What we expect from you
Other knowledge and skills you bring to TNO:
- A university master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 4 years as a project manager in a research environment. You have experience managing projects in public-private partnerships.
- You have experience conducting research in the maritime, construction, or infrastructure sectors.
- You have experience with complex issues, vision development, digitalisation in construction and infrastructure.
- You are preferably IPMA-certified. If you do not yet have the certification, you can do the training with us.
What you’ll get in return
Perhaps you would like to grow your career in the direction of commerce or consultancy? Or would you like to become a project manager? Immerse yourself in sustainable innovations? Or carve out a career as a technical expert?
TNO offers optional employee benefits, enabling you to tailor your benefits package to match your personal situation. You may also expect:
