Talent development programme

When you join TNO as a junior scientist, you are automatically part of the Talent Development Programme. A great opportunity to further develop yourself as a person and as a professional. We also take you into the world of TNO and you discover what working as a junior researcher with us entails. The programme starts after you join and lasts for two years.

Not a trainee programme and not a vacancy

Just to clear up any confusion: this talent programme is not a trainee programme. The Talent Development Programme (TDP) is intended for all new colleagues who start a job at TNO. During the programme, you will (usually) continue to work in the job for which you applied. This means that the TDP is not a vacancy for which you can apply but is part and parcel of every starter vacancy.

So, what is the Talent Development Programme?

Think of it as a starter's package for working at TNO. Maybe you have little or even no work experience. In that case, you may have to contend with quite a lot. During the programme we guide you along the way. A lot of attention is geared to the development of competencies that are useful in your job as a junior researcher.

What you can expect in brief

  • Tools for accelerated development: monitoring by your manager and HR, training, coaching and learning on the job.
  • Customisation: we invite you to share your wished regarding development and ambitions, and tailor the programme accordingly.
  • A large network of (junior) colleagues with whom you can exchange experiences. For example, via Hello@TNO - where you meet all the new people - and Jong TNO.

If you’re curious about those who have preceded you, read the stories of other TNO employees.

Fill your backpack with new experiences

Working at TNO is like a wonderful journey: an enrichment of your life. In terms of content but also on a personal level. Conversely, we like to challenge you to add something to TNO as well, to make our contribution to the world of tomorrow even greater.
