Marketing & Communications Project Manager | High Tech Campus Eindhoven
This is our moment. At TNO-ESI, you work at the heart of high-tech innovation, alongside researchers and strategic partners. You help build visibility, stories and projects that matter in a place where substance, ambition and impact come together.
About this position
High-tech innovation only makes an impact when the world takes notice. At TNO-ESI, you make sure it does. As Marketing & Communications Project Manager, you take the lead on projects that strengthen the visibility and positioning of cutting-edge applied research. You work closely with researchers, management and strategic partners — and you're right at home there.
What will be your role?
You initiate, steer and deliver marketing and communications projects that strengthen the visibility, positioning and ambitions of TNO-ESI and its strategic partners. You connect external market developments to the content and activities of TNO-ESI and translate them into effective strategies. You work closely with researchers, management and colleagues across the organisation. You're a sparring partner who sets direction and isn't afraid to make decisions.
Your role is project-based and substantive. You own projects from start to finish: sharpening objectives, defining the approach, involving the right people and taking responsibility for planning, progress, quality and budget.
In practice, this means leading marketing and communications projects, advising management and project leaders, developing and executing communications plans and briefings, coordinating internal and external parties, and maintaining coherence across multiple projects. Events such as symposia may be part of your projects, but are not a goal in themselves.
You report to the department manager of TNO-ESI and are part of the communications team of TNO unit ISP. Your base is the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven.
What we expect from you
You're an independent marketing and communications professional who is used to taking ownership of complex projects. You move easily between strategy and execution and feel comfortable working with subject-matter experts, management and external partners. You recognise different interests, bring people together and advise with clarity without losing sight of delivery.
You also bring:
- A completed bachelor's or master's degree in marketing, communications or a related field, with at least six years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience leading marketing and communications projects end-to-end.
- Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English, written and verbal.
- An independent working style: you take ownership and make decisions.
- Affinity with a technical or research environment is a plus.
What you'll get in return
Challenging and varied work with a real impact. And plenty of opportunities as, at TNO, you are in charge of shaping your career. We offer a gross monthly salary between € 3,500 and € 5,000 (based on your knowledge and experience), 8% holiday pay, a 13th month bonus of 8.33% and a flex budget (5.58% + € 180). In addition, you will be given every opportunity to develop yourself.
TNO offers optional employee benefits, enabling you to tailor your benefits package to match your personal situation. You may also expect:
- An extremely professional, innovative working environment where colleagues are leading experts in their field.
- The opportunity to attend courses, workshops and conferences, and to receive training and coaching based on your needs.
- 33 days annual leave on a full-time basis plus a flexible holiday (prorated) that can be used on a cultural, religious, or otherwise important day of your choosing.
- An employer working towards a respectful, inclusive, and equitable work environment where every employee can flourish, with various employee networks that foster connection and give advice.
- We offer a comprehensive and flexible mobility plan that also includes full compensation for public transportation for commuting and business travel.
- Great social events with your team and other TNO colleagues. That’s how you will get to know a lot of people really quickly.
- Flexible working hours, the possibility to work parttime (32 or 36 hours) and the possibility of working from home.
