Technical Application Manager - The Hague / Hybrid - 32-40h

Want to make your mark on our time? Come work as a Technical Application Manager at TNO in The Hague!

About this position

Would you like to contribute to improving the Netherlands as a Technical Application Administrator? At TNO, you can. We are looking for a Technical Application Administrator to join the Application Platform Management team within TNO Information Services. In this role, you will be responsible for our server-based applications. You will ensure that our researchers have access to the right application functionality and the information they need, while also making sure that information can be used, stored, and processed securely and in compliance with relevant regulations. In this way, you enable our researchers to apply their expertise to help make the Netherlands a better place.

What will be your role?

As a Technical Application Administrator, you will be responsible for the technical management of a broad range of applications. That variety is exactly what appeals to you. Every application is different, and you enjoy the challenge of quickly familiarising yourself with new systems and technologies.

Some applications are fully managed by TNO Information Services, while others are partly managed in collaboration with external vendors. This means that, in addition to continuously expanding your own technical knowledge, you must also be able to act as a capable technical counterpart in discussions with suppliers and partners.

On a daily basis, you will monitor applications to proactively identify and resolve potential issues where possible. At the same time, troubleshooting will also be a regular part of your work. When technical issues or user questions arise, you will be consulted to investigate the root cause. You will analyse problems, implement quick fixes where necessary, and work towards sustainable long-term solutions. You will also communicate clearly with stakeholders such as the service desk, fellow application administrators, and external vendors.

What we expect from you

  • Higher professional education (HBO) level of working and thinking.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Technical Application Administrator in a large and complex environment.
  • Solid general technical knowledge of IT concepts, applications, and databases.
  • A high degree of independence, particularly when it comes to acquiring new knowledge.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in internal projects and with external suppliers and companies.
  • Excellent command of both Dutch and English.
  • Deep expertise in one or more mainstream applications is not required, but would be considered an advantage.

What you'll get in return

Challenging and varied work with a real impact. And plenty of opportunities as, at TNO, you are in charge of shaping your career. We offer a gross monthly salary between € 4,000,- and € 5,400,- (based on your knowledge and experience), 8% holiday pay, a 13th month bonus of 8.33% and a flex budget (5.58% + € 180). In addition, you will be given every opportunity to develop yourself.

TNO offers optional employee benefits, enabling you to tailor your benefits package to match your personal situation. You may also expect:

  • An extremely professional, innovative working environment where colleagues are leading experts in their field.
  • The opportunity to attend courses, workshops and conferences, and to receive training and coaching based on your needs.
  • 33 days annual leave plus a flexible holiday that can be used on a cultural, religious, or otherwise important day of your choosing (on a full-time basis).
  • An employer working towards a respectful, inclusive, and equitable work environment where every employee can flourish, with various initiatives such as Jong TNO, numerous expertise based guilds, Rainbow Community and Round Tables on diverse inclusion topics.
  • We offer a comprehensive and flexible mobility plan that also includes full compensation for public transportation for commuting and business travel.
  • Great social events with your team and other TNO colleagues. That’s how you will get to know a lot of people really quickly.
  • Flexible working hours, the possibility to work parttime (32 or 36 hours) and the possibility of working from home.
  • A good pension scheme.
